Los Menucos, Rio Negro, Argentina
The PUZZLE Project is located on the Prov. 8 route, just 20km northwest of the town of Los Menucos, in the Province of Rio Negro. The Project consists of a survey of 14,500 hectares. Between 2019 and 2022 was explored by Golden Arrow Resources under agreement with “Valcheta Exploraciones”, who carried out important exploration works such as: mapping, geochemical sampling, ground Magnetometry, trenches, etc.
The property is located in the Geological Province of the Somuncurá Massif. There are system of veins lodged in acidic vulcanites outcrops from the Los Menucos Complex (Triassic - Lower Jurassic).
In the center-west zone of the project, a large “Magnetic Low” with a general east-west strike appeared, within which an important epithermal system is housed, with quartz veins and stockwork, and which has interesting Au anomalies; with the best value of 2.8ppm.
At the Puzzle project a key feature identified early in the exploration program was a 6.5 kilometre-long and more than 150-metre-wide MAGNETIC LOW related to a corridor with gold-mineralized quartz veins and adjacent stockwork. The sampling program has identified additional mineralized quartz veins and sub-outcrop in the anomaly corridor.
It is a main vein N45E, and at least of outcrop of 1.8 km long, although continue to the NE, discontinuously. The vein has an width average of 3 or 4m, reaching almost 10m in some sector; and the area produces an important topographic highlight.
It is made up mainly of chalcedonic silica, with massive textures, with somewhat banded sectors. The best samples is 0.47ppm Au.
In Puzzle project Golden Arrow made a trenching program with 10 trenches identified gold in multiple samples over significant widths in several trenches.
